hi there, my name’s paloma!

I am an illustrator based in Texas, working from my in-home studio. I operate an online storefront offering original pieces and merchandise I design, while regularly vending at local markets as well. My workflow and process get documented and uploaded onto my youtube channel and instagram page to show people another way that they can lean into their creativity to mold a career for themselves.

I love to create illustrative paintings, digital works, ceramic pieces and multi-color risograph prints that combine the visual language of my cultural upbringing along with imagery from my current interests. working in a silly, crafty style is my way of breaking the rhetoric that art has to be serious or an “accurate” portrayal of the world to be deemed as valuable!

Born in Mexico, my immigrant experience deeply informs my work. I am the first in my family to graduate college, holding a degree in Art History and Fine Arts from the University of Houston. I hope to spread my story for other children and creatives with a similar background.

When I’m not drawing,I enjoy knitting, spending time with my many pets (two dachshunds, two cats, and a flock of backyard chickens), enjoying friends’ company and seeking new ways to grow as an artist.
